Soil vs Hydro the Ultimate Show Down
So most people fall into two major categories soil or hydro. But like most stubborn people they believe their way of growing is best, and should be done the way they see fit. Almost like good vs evil batman vs superman it’s a debate as old as time itself. When you get deeper into why one would choose soil over hydro, the baseline issue always remains the same. What is best for my space and what I’m Comfortable with doing. For example, let’s say you have a very small space but you want to maximize what you have. Most people in that situation would hand water in some form of soil or soil type medium its easy, not too much work and it makes perfect sense right? Why make more work when you don’t have to?
Now let’s say you have a very large space, and you want to focus more on other tasks inside your big garden besides watering. This is the benefit of a hydroponic system it allows you to spend less time watering. It would make more sense to automate your watering system for a bigger space “unless you don’t mind” So it all boils down to what is best for you.
Some people don’t mind moving dirt but aren’t comfortable with a system with so many variables’. And some people can’t physically move dirt and have no problem using an automated feeding system. Again it all depends on your space, time, and comfortability level in different watering systems and grow styles. There are pros and cons in both systems, you just have to find what works for you and your individual situation. The only thing I can say about the two different styles is “Don’t knock it until you try it” there is no wrong way to grow as long as it’s fun
